i have read about some sata wire thing to put some special firmware on it but i would like to know if i have to open my xbox up and is there any guides on how to use this sata wire thing.

there are guides on how to use it, but like bhetrick said u still have to open it..

yes, to flash it you need to open it, and unless you buy the ne Blaster360 from Xecuter, or Xeno has a similar item, you will have to open it every time you want to upgrade the firmware.
