How on earth do I find/ create a ?SS File? (Security Sector file) from my 360 game discs without having to plug my XBOX 360 into my PC.

I have used ?wxRipper 1.2? to backup the game but I need the SS File to merge them together with ?XBOX360_SS_Merger_1.7b? so it will burn/ play.

Please can someone help me?

Thanks for trying to help but it does not say how you can create the ss.bin file yourself. It had a link for downloading them of the net but that link is dead.

So far I have used the hot swapping method with 'Fusion Frenzy 2' game using WxRipper. All that 'WxRipper' made was an ISO file 2.44GB in size; no ss.bin file to be seen anywhere. Now does that sound right or is that way too small?

That's what I mean; How do I create a ss file?
Is there anyway I can do it using the hot swapping method?

If you backed up your game with Schtrom360Xtract don?t need the ss file did you download the game from the internet? Go here
http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/get=48.html
Will only work if you have the game your self i.e. own it

easiest way is to buy a Samsung SH-D162C DVD-Rom drive flashed with KREON firmware on Ebay (will read original Xbox and 360 game discs on your PC), and use Xbox Backup Creator.
Then when you back up the original disc it will always be easy and it will always be stealth patched.
If you download them then either Xbox Backup Creator or Schtrom (the newest versions) can patch the SS file for you. You just need to hit a site online and get the SS file for your region (PAL or NTSC)
there are sites that will have most of them.

Can I just ask:

1 - Can I use the 'Samsung SH-D162C DVD-Rom drive' on my laptop with a USB cable or something similar?

2 - Does the 'Samsung SH-D162C DVD-Rom' flashed with KREON firmware; do straight backups without me having to muck about trying to find SS files for the game?

Well i suppose you could put it into a USB hard drive enclosure if you wanted to.

Yes it does. It is an easy 2 step process, and makes complete & stealth (having all the files you need including the SS file) 360 back ups in about 25 minutes start to finish.

Thank you. All this can be done with just 'Xbox Backup Creator' right? Do you know what version I should use or which one is the newest out?

Have you had any games so far that won't do a direct backup???

XBC 2.4 is the newest. and with this version so far every game can be 'backed up.' also if you get schtrom, get version 3.2. i believe this is the newest one out also. burn with imageburn, and make sure you set the layer break in the settings. not sure what it is off the top of my head, and cannot check right now as i am burning a game currently.

What does Xbox Backup Creator back the games up as (ISO)???
Do I need schtrom; What does that do?
So I need a programme called 'imageburn' to burn my backups. I thought you use CloneCD?
Thanks for all the help
