I have using a modded SCPH-39006 ps2, can play ps2 backups
I am using lite-on dvd rw LH-18a1p
I am using Sony 16d1 AccuCORE DVD-R disc
I am using DVD Decrypter and have followed all the instructions to create and burn the image however i keep getting red screen when i boot up the disc on my ps2
what are you using to boot the discs (what mods does your PS2 have)
Some systems are just picky about the media you use. And some burners just do better with some brands. Like my Sony burner (rebadged Lite-On) use to do really well with Philips 8X DVD-R also what speed are you burning them at. And what is the max speed listed on the DVD you use.
ive found out the dvds that i burn work on other modded ps2s, so i think its my ps2 thats not reading blue based dvds? it has no problem reading silver based backups
It really depends on your PS2. My slim PS2 has trouble booting games that are burnt near the outer rim on those exact Sony DVDs you're using to burn your games yet when I switch to 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs with the same game, Tales of the Abyss, it plays fine and nearly flawlessly as the original. Try doing a media switch and see if that may help you with your problem.
Also, what game are you trying to get exactly to work? If you are trying to boot a PS2 CD-based game like Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Growlanser Generations, Dynasty Tactics or Romance of the Three Kingdoms 7, you need to burn them on a CD and boot them using the Swap Magic CD version you have to boot those PS2 CD games. Swap Magic DVD for booting PS2 DVD games that are silver-based and Swap Magic CD for booting those PS2 CD games that are blue-colored like you mentioned.
EDIT: Oh my bad, you were using a modded PS2 with a chip? Then try burning the game on a CD and see if it would boot since, unless you use DVD Scan lite by Sonix I believe to patch it to DVDR, you need to burn the game onto a CD, not a DVD.
