Firstly, yes, most likely. You may want to cross reference the specs of your pc against those required by the burner to be sure, but for the most part you will be fine.

Secondly, yes, as monteca stated, you can buy USB/FireWire enclosures to put your drive(s) in. That works just dandy ;)

Any questions, just ask.

Ok, so if you're in the US, buy one here. If uk, buy here.

How it works, is this..

Inside the enclosure are IDE cables/connectors which you connect the drive up to.
Then, it goes form the enclosure to a USB port on your PC/laptop.

Simple as =]

Yes, it comes with it.

And I'd say NewEgg was your best bet as I beleive they ship to Canada too. You may want to see if any canadians have any light to shed on that matter..

I'm not sure about canadian shops.. you'd have to ask someone else..

ddp is from Canada (he's the only canadian I know of off the top of my head) so maybe PM him about it or something :)

Sorry.

No, you have to buy the enclosure seperate to the drive, unles you're buying an external drive, as oposed to an internal drive and an enclosure.

For gods sake.. It's not a specific LG enclosure..!!

Any external usb housing which is physically the right size will do. They cost around £16 and are available from just about any computer parts supplier.
The shop down the road from you probably has them in stock.. or they can order one for you.

strewth.. has nobody ever heard of google??? http://www.directusbstore.co.uk/cnb/shop...odCategoryID=22
1 - 10 of about 2,060,000 for usb enclosure. (0.12 seconds)
Really hard to find ain't they.

What she said ^^

I'm not giving any further help on this topic to either of you, as it is pretty simple really. Work it out.

Jeez, I even got a PM off 7331 asking if everything "came with it". FFS

Don't take this the wrong way but if you don't know how to install a standard ide dvd rom drive then maybe you should just pay someone with the knowledge to do it for you. Cause it sure ain't rocket science!!!!

Monteca, if you have nothing useful to add to the thread, then keep shut. Also, that link in your sig most likely needs to go.

We'll see when a mod gets here.
