Hi there. I just today installed a Flip Top on my slim PS2 (v12) and was trying out Swap Magic 3.6 with it, when I noticed some strange things. First of all, neither the CD or DVD version will let me flip open the top when it gets to the "load program/video: normal" screen (once I open the flip top, it quickly flashes "insert bigger TOC disc" before it goes back to the loading screen and slaps me with the "Not a Valid PS2 disc" statement, and the Swap Magic disc inside starts spinning uncontrollably).

This in itself turned out not to be much of a problem, though, as I found that if I just leave the flip top open while I boot Swap Magic, none of that happens, I can swap discs easily, and playing burned games works fine. It seemed I was in the clear...

However, I was left with one nagging concern. My DVD version of Swap Magic usually takes forever to load and often doesn't boot up at all, while the CD version does it's job flawlessly. With that in mind, I attempted to use the method of loading the Swap CD, switching it with a large TOC non-burned game, and continuing from there. But my original problem now seemed to be hounding me once more; when it tells me to "insert bigger TOC disc" (after I've opened the lid) and I do so, using FFX in this case, upon closing the lid it gives me "Not a Valid PS2 disc" (though it clearly is) and the game starts spinning uncontrollably like the Swap Magic disc in the first situation--not allowing me to change the disc. But what's really strange is that if I press X to load FFX from that screen, the game starts up and runs perfectly anyway. I've tried this with a few games, and it's the same for all...

Now, my question is this: what could it be that makes these games read as invalid (and start spinning?) in Swap Magic even though they still work correctly on the system, and even from Swap Magic's boot screen? Furthermore, does anyone have any suggestions as to why my flip top isn't working as described? Any help would be much appreciated.
