I have had similar problems with a number of AVI files which are divx all i get is a mesg saying format not supported when i insert it in the video source box.In fact I have never actually managed to do anything with TMPGEnc .Will this programme give me dvd quality movies?? All I have managed to do with AVI files so far is to make awful VCD disks using Nero. Any help would be really appreciated

It's divx i tried to do what it says on that page but i don't get it what does this mean "increase the priority to 1 or 2 or to the top of plugin-list and try open the video." i put it to the top of the list but nothing changed.

I'm using RecordNow MAX. i also have global star cd & dvd burner. and it wont work on any of them. on RecordNow MAX it says:

"Not in the proper video cd format and it has been skipped. It should be"

-NTSC 352x240 29.97 hz or
-PAL 352x288 25 hz or
-Film 352x240 23.97

Also, the audio must be 22/44.1 khz stereo,

What are the properties of the mpeg you got from encoding with TMPGEnc?

Load the mpeg into WMP then go to file then to properties and the details should be there.

If not then get a program called AVIcodec then load the mpeg and at the bottom of the window will be a line item with the properties of the video and audio.

Get AVIcodec from here:http://avicodec.duby.info/

It seems like to me that you tried to burn the file as VCD according to the error you provided. The properties above are VCD format.

Your mpeg is in SVCD format and must be burnt as an SVCD not VCD. That is why it is saying that the file is not in the proper Video CD format, because your file isn't in VCD format it is in SVCD format.

Also I am not very familar with either one of those burning progs myself so you might want to wait for someone to answer with experience with those burning progs.
