Can't Install XP Pro Due to Stop Error

I can't find out how to solve this head scratcher. Any help would be greatly apriciated.

Problem: I can't install Windows XP Pro due to Stop Error 0x0000007B 0xF898C524 0xc0000034 0x00000000 0x00000000

No Idea what the parameters mean, but I do know that 0x0000007B has something to do with the drive or something, but here's the thing: It's a brand new drive and, believe it or not, it installs Vista without a hitch.

I don't want to keep Vista on my system because at the moment it seems that it can only be used for simple use and not for what I need it for.

So basically I need to know how to fix this problem but using Vista to fix it. Anybody willing to help?
