I dont undertand how to install ydl on my ps3 uk version 1.60, i have ydl 5.0 on a dvd i downloaded it and burned it, i have also downloaded the 2 files otheros.self and otheros.bld and have put them on my 4gb mem stick in the inside the otheros file i made and put the otheros folder inside the PS3 folder i made at the root of the memory stick, i then formatted my ps3 hard disk leaving 10gb for an other os like it says b4 formatting, i then put the mem stick in the ps3 and went on install other os on system settings, but intead of picking up the otheros.self file it found only the otheros.bld but i have read on the net it should find the otheros.self file only, but i carried on and installed the otheros.bld file onto the ps3, i then put in the dvd disk with ydl 5.0 on it and under system default or w.e it is, i changed it from ps3 to other os, it then ran the dvd and 2 penguins came up and loads of text scrolled down then stopped on kboot so i typed in intalltext because i DONT have a HDTV and i read thats wat u have to type in if u dont have one, it then come up with and installation guide/process in wat i can only say looked like DOS in windows, i went through the process and then started to install still in DOS kind of text, this took about an hour, after it installed it the ps3 ejected the disk and said install complete, so then i restart the ps3 and then in system default go onto other os instead of ps3, the two penguins pop up again with a whole load of text untill it gets to kboot again, now i dont really one wat to do, bearing in mind i DONT have a HDTV it just an average 20inch t.v, i have been told to type a number of things but w.e i type i either get the ps3 doesnt reconise the comand or a bit more text comes up and then as if it was about to go into a different screen, just goes off and my normall av channel comes up with a white backround not doing anything???????????????????????? oh and i do have a usb keyboard and mouse in right from the start. PLZ HELP ME SOMEONE!!!!
did you enter Adaconda on the yellow dog 5.0 installer? that could be the problem, if so, Try restarting your ps3 system, and tab through until you hit "ydltest" if you do see this on the kboot... press enter to enter yellow dog.
