You only use DVD2One / Shrink becuase its to easy, you dont give a toss about quality , and you know shit all about making a dvd any way
Lets be fair , DVD2One isnt the best as it cant work out languages and where abouts the film maybe, every ones a computer tech, using crap software and not doing the job properly.
Evryone knows everything about computers , until they fuk up...

I totally agree...I hate those One Click programs Like DVD2One and DVD Shrink were it takes No Brains or Knowlege to backup a DVD and the Quality is Only Marginal compared to if you were to Backup a DVD manually...I also hate Programs that Split DVD-9 over 2 DVD-5 Disks as this is a Waste of Disks especially when you can achieve the same Quality if you Back up the DVD manually useing the Right software ..It takes a Little Longer doing it manually but it pays off when you get a DVD that Looks Much better than if you used a One Button program and there is More of a sence of Acomplishment when Backing up a DVD manually and you get to learn how Digital video works...I started out makeing VCD"s and SVCD"s a Few Years ago and Now I am a Video editor For a Studio in Vancouver and I"m starting a new Job editing Adult Videos and I couldn"t have learned how to do this stuff if I had started makeing VCD"s with a One Click program ....well Folks Cheers

Minion, excellent reply
The longer the better, ive been doing dvd's for a while, and cant fault the way i do them ..
Am i being bitchy, damn right, it gets me when assholes like authors of DVD2One and the like, and newbies expect a dvd to pop out and be the same quality and sound. Give them a dvd burner and they think they are technicians
time to cool off..

Minion, you keep mentioning how much better it is to do it manually. However, i have yet to see a method you have suggested. If it is merely re-encoding (hardly manual) I have done it and it produces good results. However, with less than 10% compression and using Deep Analysis on DVD Shrink i can get a very good back-up, virtually indistinguishable from the original, and thats viewing back on a 60" UXGA screen
bnz - DVD Shrink and DVD2One is not crap software, and i guarantee you couldnt produce it. Your claims are un-just

Im not in the position to justify myself, i prefer the 'manual' way, and so would many others
qoute :and i guarantee you couldnt produce it
what kind of comment is that, complete shite.
what are you to guarantee?, that i cant get a better quality of movie, lets be fair every one knows DVD2One compresses the movie, so a 7gig film down to 4.3g, talking complete bollocks.
There is no control over bitrate, and proving it, i put a dvd5, 3.9g movie thru DVD2One, and the end result was 3.6g, what was the remark in this post, 'point and click', thats it , no control
And having a dig at Minion to see a method better than the software mentioned, then you havent tried any other methods,
Deep Analysis on DVD Shrink, wtf does that mean?
What gets me is why ppl get pissed and defend software as if its their own.
Like i said ive done many , many encodings, and all , which play back on a tv , not pc, are perfect quality, i dont need to justify or backup my claims.
And if , if i need to give me a PO Box number for me to send a copy and ill wait for the apology....

bnz - Your arrogance is simply breathtaking.
Instead of making insulting comments like "you know shit all about making a dvd any way " how about you write a tut or quide and share your knowlege so everyone "can do it properly" as you say.
Better yet - write a programme that does it automatically and market it.

If you looked I have explained it in a very Basic way Twice on this Forum..And Yes it is Basicly Just useing a Real mpeg encoder, But I don"t Understand how you can say that that isn"t Manual..When you have to use 6+ different Programs and write AVS scripts and use Filters and have to extract the Motion menu"s and there audio tracks out of the Varius VOB files and the Scene selections and special features and have to add the Chapter points at the exact same frames as the original so the Menu"s and scene selections Match , Yes I would Call that "Manual", well compared to DVD2One or DVD-Shrink i would call it that..Most poeple don"t go through all that Trouble just so they can get all of the Original DVD Features on there DVD"s but if you want it to be just like the Original that is whay you have to do....Cheers

Arrogance, where,
Ok my choice of words could of been a little better i admit, and i apologize for the odd word of swearing, but each is entitled to thier own opinion.
As for the mention of a tut, i might do when ive 5 minutes spare, ill put my money where my mouth is , so to speak, as for writing an app, who said i was a programmer??
