Probably not because the playstation 2 doesnt have system files on the hd that you install to mod. I mean the xbox is the only system that has system filkes on the hardrive to mess around with. And nobody has made a program to softmod the ps2.
And the playstation 2 does have a hd but you have to buy a hd and a network adapter to hook it up. And the ps2 lacks the system files on the hd to softmod. And i never knew you could play emulators on the gamecube. you learn something new everyday.
Is it possible to softmod it? I mean not having a hard-drive and all.
???
Am I able to mod it via USB2.0 flash drive or CD-R?
cd-r, sure. usb 2.0, nope, the ps2 takes usb 1.1 only because its ole skool.
What can be achieved by modding on PS2?
lots
Backups?
yes
Emulation?
yeah
for gc, a simple way is to use sdload with old school ar, or sd media launcher(aka the sell-out ar made to make $$$ off the homebrew community, while still allowing for a homebrew community; mixed feelings?)
emuls can be found at dcemu

nintenut:This is going to sound a bit odd, but it works, put your lips around the trigger and blow really hard, it works.
bee_cup: My DS Lite L button don't work...
nintenut: Put your mouth on it and blow, gets the dust out, and sounds obscene!
