Hey I was given a PS2 v15 mb# 051-32 for my bday. I quickly decided to get a modchip as I have done about 100 psx machines before. I always bought from modchip dot ca. I never had a problem before. I have tried to install the chipmod Pro + modchip in my system now about 10 times and It still won't work. I contacted the company and they told me to return it for exchange. Now, after taking the chip out, my ps2 won't boot. I cleaned all contacts, checked for solder splatter and checked for any crossed connections with a magnifing glass. Still nothing. No boot screen period. And now my laser doesn't light up. I get no red light on the laser when it tries to read a disc. When the cd or dvd tries to spin at first it stutters a few times and then finally starts spinning but the laser doesn't light up. Can anyone help me? I just want to play my original again.

Yeah I was thinking that. I tried to test all of the fuses but I can't find them all. I think there are suppose to be 13 but I can only find about 5 or 6. What chip is the Bios on these boards?

go to Teammodders.com and ask there. They have forums but they also do chip installs so they would have much better ideas as to what it could be or how to fix it.

well with great joy I can say that I resurrected my PS2. If you are having the same troubles as me check this:

The small circular connects for the ABGHI connections: Make sure you didn't remove a ring when desoldering a wire during removal. I ended up removing the ring on the g connection. I just assumed the rings were testing points so I didn't pay any attention to the missing ring. Low and behold, I ran a wire from the chip to the spot where the ring used to be and bingo everything worked fine again.

I hope this helps someone out there.

1st post!
I am having the same problems trying to mod my friends slim v15 PS2. I am using the ChipMod+ chip from modchip.ca. Now when I plug the power into it, it doesn't even come on, the red light. 1st it wold only turn on, I would get the ChipMod to come on the screen, it would then start up normally, but before I could get a chance to put a game in, she would shut off. Then when I push the power button, nothing happens, she won't start up at all, the power won't come on. And now, when I plug her in to teh wall, the red light doesn't even come on. What could this be? I've installed these chips before, but not on a slimline...
Any Help would be great!

I would say there is a bridge some where on the rtquvnmw pads. the things are so close together, if you let your soldering iron slip just a little solder will be all over the place. I have removed my faulty mod chip at least 10 times before I finally sent it back yesterday for replacement. try removing the chip and cleaning all soldered spots I even went as far as to clean them with sand paper. I wouldn't use anything less than 600 grit though. after it is all clean I would try it without the chip and see if the machine works. If it doesn't check the fuses around the power input.
