FixVTS , how to use.

Following the http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 guide,
I just installed FixVTS. I can start it and the drag and drop individual VOB files FixVTX window.

There are Clean and FullDVD buttons that are greyed out and not active. So when I drag and drop a directory with VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS subdirectories on FixVTS, nothing happens.

How do I activate and use this feature.

FixVts is now a part of RipIt4Me (also free) a one click combo. You haven't mentioned any other software, so perhaps you can give it a try. The link you posted is to Alkohols older guides. Here's the new set, with downloads also.
