after 5 years im getting a component cable for my ps2 and im wondering does it give every ps2 game a higher resolution?

the game box should say if it can use higher resolutions, The sound will be no different as component cables only deal with the picture. The sound cables are the same analog cables that your original PS2 would have had. But hook those into a good surround sound system and it will sound great. I do not know if there are any digital or optical sound cables for PS2

thanks now i understand. I thought the component cable didnt have a lot of support like the hard drive.

and that i could only get higher resolution from a couple of games.
