Hi All,

1. What is the difference between HD Loader and HD Advance?

2. I want to store avi/video files on my Hard Drive and boot them so they will play on my TV... can i do this with HD Loader?.. if not is there a way for me to store them on the Hardrive and play them on the screen using another method?

3. I have an OLD PS1 game that i love but is getting very scratched. I want to back it up... is it possible to play PS1 games from HD Loader. I have heard not but i just wanted to confirm.

4. Whats the best 2 player split screen racing game on the PS2?... i bought WRC Rally evolved knowing how fun the racing is and was very disappointed to find the only (non-online) mulitplayer was time trials :S. (Non-split screen)

Not much. HD Advance 3 now has the same amount of modes as the modified HD Loader. But to be honest, HD Loader is better, but if your PS2 is not modded you should get HD Advance 3.

2.
No you can't play videos from HD Loader. If you apply the independence exploit, you can run SMS from your memory card and play your videos from your HDD. If you need assistance on this, feel free to ask.

3.
Hehe, to run the IE you'll need an original PS1 disc. Anyway you're right that it cannot run from HD Loader. I don't exactly know why but I'm sure the cause is from the boot file. It's header is PS-X EXE instead of the PS2 file header being ELF.

4.
I'm no expert on this but I can suggest 3. Burnout 3 is probably the only one of the most funnest destructible split-screen games. Gran Turismo 4 is a great split-screen game if you want a serious racer. And lastly Need For Speed games released from Underground till Carbon are great games for loose fun racing.

Ok i'll try the independence exploit if i can find it ^^.

So what about another memory card app? Is there one out there that can load PS1 games?

Sorry im new.. just starting as i recently bought a PS2 (fat) and located a brand new network card. I've ordered a 400gb maxtor as per compatibilty chart. Hopefully i can play my backups with no load times and watch AVI files :D

Yea if you could advise or link me to a page that tells me how to use the independence exploit to use SMS. I modded my gamecube and i use dol files to run AVI files off that.. Is the equivalent on PS2 ELF files? Lol hope im going in the right directions.
