I was about to purchase v3.6, but saw there was a new v3.8 out w/ coder. I'm not sure what the coder is but I assume I should buy the newest version of swap magic, is this correct? I just want to make sure the new version was just as reliable as the older one, and included all the same functionality.

3.6 - http://allmodchip.com/Swap_Magic_36_Combo_NTSC_p_16156.html
3.8 - http://allmodchip.com/PS2_Swap_Magic_38_...bo_p_16181.html

This will be used with a slim v14 (75001) to play ps2/ps1 backups.

Also, I have noticed that the most popular media seems to be Verbatim DVD+R DL. Is there a specific speed I should be looking for? I've seen the 10-pack deal on Office Max website mentioned, just wanted to make sure I was looking at the right ones.. The 2.4x part threw me off a bit as I've seen in some of the guides that you should burn your backup at half the speed your media is rated at, is this correct media? (for ps1 backups, do most people buy cheaper CD media instead of this more expensive DVD+R DL?)

Verbatim 10-Pack Dual Layer DVD+R

# Compatible with 2.4x DVD+R burners
# Double-layer recording format delivers 8.5 GB of storage space per disc
# Holds up to 4 hours of digital video in SP mode and 12 hours in EP mode
# Ideal for your favorite videos, photos, valuable data and an entire music library

# 1 Year warranty

Just looking for some confirmation is all, thanks!

3.8 has a built in cheat coder database

3.6 will do fine and its cheaper

as for dvds DVD-R or + r dvd 5 is the most comon disk when backing up games when using swap magic

sony or verbatim will do the trick

only if you had a modchip you could use dvd 9 double layer disks .
only for games larger than 4.7 gb that is which is only a few

I AM A DUMPSTER DIVER AND PROUD OF IT..
Reach Down & Grab it Or Walk in & Get Some !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!}
