Using TDK DVDs for backups!!!

All my Backups are either Verbatim or Ridata, and they work fine, but my friend wants to copy a lot of my backups for himself.

We tried using a TDK DVD and we burnt Gears of War without any troubles. It plays fine. Now, if the TDKs work, then would it be alright to use them instead of the Verbatim? I mean, might we see problems later on with the TDKs, or might they damage or wear out the laser quicker?

It's a hell of a lot easier for my friend to go with TDKs.

you can use them at your own risk, if they work great. But its very... neh almost certain TDK's don't have as high quality dye on them as Verbatium do.

That means in the future his drive laser may not last as long or some backups may jump/skip or even fail to load completely.

Its yours, or rather his call. I personally would just rather pay that little extra for Verbatium i know there good i use em for PS2 dicss and my 360 backups no problems.

Mines never skip, never jump and i have a 100% burn success rate.

As you probably know pretty much everyone on these forums also uses verbatium. If i were in your shoes i'd consider it too... for about a nanosecond and just go with verbatium. If you wanna chance your luck then by all means do so.

I personally am now brand loyal to verbatium i've been using em for years i wouldn't choose any other media.

Unless of course they were discontinued or something.
