Need help with low volume on memory stick movies

New PSP owner looking for help.
After searching here and other forums I was finally able to get a few movies onto my 4GB stick. I have ripped using both Shrink and DVD Decrypter to give both a try and converted with PSP Video 9. My problem is that the audio is barely audible. I went back and adjusted the settings on PSPVideo and increased the audio to 400% and didn't notice any change. Video all looks great, just can't hear.
By the way, normal game volume and audio tracks are fine.
I'm looking for any help, either with these programs or another option.
