i was going to record with vcr then buy this 55 dallor thing to get vcr on computer ..is there a esier or cheaper way ...my xbox is soft modded and i have a 360.. i can transfer stuff from my xbox to pc

If you're referring to recording gameplay for things like Halo videos, etc; then you can either hook your xbox up to a capture card; or you can hook it up to a VCR. Also, some DV cams have RCA connectors which can be used for input to the camera, that would work as well.

If you do it with a DV cam, you can just connect it to your pc with firewire and/or USB to upload the recorded video.

If you use a vcr, or direct connection, you're going to want a video capture card in your system. There is a USB capture device option, but it tends to run very low quality, and I suggest against it because it costs more too.
