Hi all,
I am thinking of buying a PS3 from the US as it's £200 cheaper over there.
Do you think it's worth it? Will i have any compatability problems with leads/blue ray/games?

Since the PS3 is region free you won't have any problems with PS3 games and Blu-ray, but you will only be able to play NTSC DVDs and PS2 games.

And also the if the games are from differnt regions u cant play online with some one from a differnt region :(

Im heading to the USA soon and i know about what will and won't work in this country, i.e, PAL PS2 Games and Blu ray DVD's, but i was wondering if anyone knows of any custom charges adopted by the UK which i will face when returning, or indeed any charges at US customs itself.
Any comment related is appreciated,

P.S, has anyone actually been to the US, bought a PS3 there and brought it back, PM me if u have.

I lives in the US. I bought my 60 gig PS3 about 2 months ago and I love it. Sure it was a leap of faith paying $600.00 for something with a small library of titles, but being a fan of Sony for years I knew it would pay off. I love the built in WiFi adapter, the fact it plays PS2 games and the dashboard has so many options. The kicker for me was the Blu-ray Dvd player. I love everything about the PS3.
(plus a kicker was my Ps2 gameshark works in it for Ps2 titles)
Buy it if you have a chance. The X-Flop 360 isn't worth it. All fluff and they make you pay to play online unlike Sony which is FREE

How did you get the gameshark to work?
It isn't a Blu-ray DVD player, it is a Blu-ray Player. *Sony takes it as an insult when you call it a Blu-ray DVD player*

I have a GS 2 v 1.2 The cheap one they sell for $20.00
So far it is the only one I know of that works on it.
Yes, I am a Sony Fanboy. Love it, proud of it, and its sad that the X-Flop has to come out with "Elite".
They have a black one, we want one too. I can heat it now from Seamus Blackley.
Play Oblvion on the X Flop 360, then the PS3. You will see major difference in all aspects of the graphics.
By the way, for the PS3 owners...install Linux as your browser for the PS3, it is well worth it.
