Hey i got a hold of a 360 demo kit and i'm having trouble getting it to play games. When i start it up it comes up with a blue scren that says xbox 360 exectuables and i can select dashboard on the list and other options. When i open the dhashboard it opens to a regular 360 dashboard. it seems to work with burned cds, dvds, and can play files from a computer, and rip from cds, but when i put in a retail 360 game it seems to read it as a dvd video and when it starts it tries to play it as a dvd. does anyone here know anything about the demo kits? Also do i have to flash the firmware to get burnt games running ect.
thanks

starting the game in the system doesn't work because when i boot up the system i get a a blue screen that allows me to select an option that leads to the typical 360 dashboard. I also tried booting the game up from the initial, and i get the same reaction.

What is this 360 demo kit you speak of?
I'm assuming you're talking about the free month subscription to Live but I could be totally off the mark.
To be honest I have no idea what you're talking about, and no one else seems to either lol

all I know is it says "demo kit" on it (stuck on) it seems to be a dev kit because it starts out with a screen that says xbox 360 executables, and the only one you can pick is the xbox 360 dashboard, i'm assuming you could add more executables if you had them. hence, when you start it, it DOES NOT go to the dash like a normal 360. you have to pick the dashboard program and run it to start the dash. this is why inserting a game before starting doesn't work. also in that first screen, there are options for setting a demo timeout value, resolutions for the screen, and other options not available in the dash.

first, it's the 360 logo, then this screen comes up

when you press x, you get this screen

then in th game config, you get

and when you pick dash, it' just a normal dash

Where did you buy that??? Have you had it flashed? Take the faceplate off, and see if the Microsoft Sticker is still intact! That is so weird!

Something tells me he didn't buy it. No offense, but I don't know how else you could get it unless he was part of MS.

if this is dev kit we gotta get it and research it and hopefully we will find millions of vulnerabilities some how... we might be able to make real homebrew!!!!!!!!

Redwood36,
If you can make a video of as much stuff as possible, and post it on youtube. You have an amazing console, and we must know where you found it!

no, it looks EXACTLY like a regular one, not black... it just has a small sticker that says demo kit on it, next to the video wire.
