i think its quite possible because this flash problems keep comming up. Everyone keeps crying about them.

i had a problem where the drive sounded like a dying car (not like the fast spinning loud but rough like a car engine) and it failed to read originals. so i reflashed it to b and it was same problem. reflashed to a same problem. last time reflashed to b and it shutup and read both type.

then i guess the solution will be reflashing with a,b,c...until it works fine..

some games even turnup saying clean the disk and shit but the sam disk work perfect in the hitachi or ms 25.... :(

I flashed a MS28 today with 5.2d. It played everything I threw at it including 360 games burned on crappy Windata DL DVD+R and various single layer Xbox backups.

It seems like this comes up alot. It says right in the nfo included with the firmware download which version... a, b, c, & d, does what. I'm guessing alot of people are missing this.

a- fast read
b- slow read
c- fast read by default
d- slow read by default

Both c and d can be switched to the opposite by inserting then ejecting an original 360 or Xbox1 game.

If using good quality media, you can use a fast read mode but your drive will be loud.

If you use a cheap brand or have a questionable burner, use a slow read mode.

I always recommend using either c or d simply because of what's happening here with the poster. If you flashed with c and find you're having reading problems, you could have simply booted to slow read mode and then tried your backups with out having to tear apart your 360 to reflash it.
