hi everyone hope some one can help me out i believe i have a first gen 360 and it plays all the old games that came out but when i went to go buy gears of war or even hitman it said it didnt work wrong region but it plays all dvds and cds im so confused.

Did you make sure that the games are of the same region as your console?But if the games themselves are region free,then they should normally play without problem.

yea im lost im just gonna have to send it in for repairs hope it plays when i get it back if not i guess it will give me a reason to buy the 360 elite

If you're thinking about modding your 360,then i'm afraid that the elite won't be so easy/not yet possible to mod(if it does come with the new benq drive).In my knowledge they have not yet released a fimware mod which enables the benq to play backups like the hitachi and samsung drives.
