New to SmartRipper i've ripped VOB files successfully but have no sound during playback. I'm not sure if i've recorded the sound or there's a problem during playback. Is there a simple explanation? Should i be doing something else to rip the sound?
Thanks, a newbie

Yeah, use DVD Decrypter instead!
It is alot better and supported more with guides.

But DVD Decrypter does not "do" all dvd:s ?
They are to big, is there anyway to go round that or how do you ripp a dvd thats over 4,37 G ?

vapea, Yes it does, so long as you have enought HD space!

Use DVD Decrypter to copy the DVD as if it is 4.37GB, it will already fit on DVD-R.

Okej, so i just ignore that it says- its to large for target space and runs it anyway ?
( im so bad at this =o( )
And DVD Decrypter seems more easy to use so i would realy want this to work...

Only use DVD Decrypter if you have enough HD space to fit the ripped vobs on.
If you are getting a warnning message saying "too large for target space" then you haven't got enough HD space!

Make sure you have 10GB free space before ripping a disc. If you have 5-6 don't even start.
If you want your files to be 4,37GB use DVD Shrink to compress them!

slot of the times sfter you have used smart ripper to rip your DVD it will play without sound if trying to play in mp9
use WINDVD or POWERDVD
alternatively since u will most likely be encoding the films open the VOB files in DVD2AVI and the sound will come

Thanks everyone. I worked out the sound issue (streaming, mapping...confusing but got there in the end) and am merrily ripping away:) I'm doing the extra bits on the DVDs mainly so don't need huge space on HD. I will check out the DVD Shrink tho, can i download it on the net?
