you cant tell what your getting until you have it, and the samsung is the best drive to use as it will last longer and has better firmware out, mostly because it can play single layer dvds

No question the Samsung is better if you have the choice. BTW this site can help you fine the drive your looking for by just looking at the box. Check the lot number.
