I have the licensed copy of JAP Region KOF XI and when I go to the online option, the screen flashes and it goes to the "not a valid ps2 disk" screen.

I have even tried to back up my game just in case and still no success.
I am using swap disk on a USA ps2. I had the same problem with Metal Gear Solid 3 Online Back up. It really puzzles me that the actual game still doesnt work!?!

Any ideaS?

UPDATE:
Pressing X instead of Square, helped the online work but....

ERROR 402: which means you have mod chip ( i think)

What the hell, im using swap disk and this is the original KOFXI GAME!?

The online Japanese is probably only available in Japan.

You can't play Jap games if you're in the US, just like you can't play NTSC games online if you're in PAL territory.

There is actually a way to play NTSC games from a PAL PS2, but I don't think there's a way to play JAP games unless you're in the Japanese region.

That is not so, my machine ID was for USA NTSC. I will see what i can do about that.
