i just purchased datawrite 2x speed gen 4 [v2] yellow dvd-r's when i put them in dvd decrypter the id is ritek gen 03. does anyone know if this is correct.
this is my first post so i am a bit new to this .
and can't get these discs to write faster than 1x all i keep getting is power calibration errors, although they are fine at 1x any help please.

Yep they probably are G03s
Have you updated the firmware of your drive?
You might not want to write G03's at 2x anyway as they don't like it much.
Get some G04s if you want to write fast.

checked on pioneer europe it say's i have firmware 1.40 and says i don't have to update.so these discs even though they say 2 speed they don't like my 2 speed 104?
now i am confused?????

I assume that you have an A104?

If so there is a firmware 1.41

mine says firmware 1.40 but i use the tool on pioneers site and it says i have the latest firmware and yes it's a 104 thanks for trying to help me out but if their is a later firmware upgrade i don't understand when i use the tool to check the drive it say's i have the latest firmware.

I suspect that it won't make any difference as you already have 1.40

I'd just write them at 1x if I were you
