Simple Way To Create Crossover Cable from standard CAT5 is by following these simple steps. There's a total of 8 wires and if both ends are arranged by color the same way then its a regular CAT5 if not its a CROSSOVER and there is no need to modify.

Only cut the wires you are going to switch or rearrange the wires within the clips at the wire ends but that requires technique patience and plier wires. This method is sloppy but effective for only short term use but its not guaranteed to work it all depends on what type of wire the CAT5 contains.

1. White Orange ? White Green
2. Orange - Green
3. White Green ? White Orange
4. Blue
5. White Blue
6. Green - Orange
7. White Brown
8. Brown

You?ll only switch the wires 1, 2, 3, 6 and switch them to their corresponding colors as stated above.

Its recommended to purchase a real CROSSOVER cable with certified golden connectors for optimum performance.

Nice guide, but if you really want to make it easy you have to write a complete guide and add some pictures. Your is just way too general for anyone who is a newbie to follow unless they have electronics experience.
