DVD2AVI stops after just 5-8 mins.

I've tried to search through past topics but couln't find a solution.
I recentley downloaded DVD2AVI v1.77.3. I go to select my vob file and click OK. I can then preview the movie start to finish. As soon as I try to save the project I can see that the Remaining Time box shows approx 5mins from the start. Sure enough after 5 mins it finishes.

Any ideas.

I'm not doing anything differently than before .... I'm stumped.

If you want to copy a movie from DVD then you need to select all the Vobs and not just one. It will skip from the first VOB to the last VOB which will give you the full movie.
Now when you save the project, you will get the entire movie and not just 5min :D

Thanks for your reply but I found the reason why it was taking 5-8 mins.
You need to have DECODE TO WAV selected under AUDIO --> OUTPUT METHOD. Once I'd ticked this I got a small D2V file and a 700MB wav file and it ran for the full duration of the movie.

Incidentally, I've always just selected the first VOB before. I read somewher that the software is clever enough to grab the rest. I tried selecting more than one VOB using <ctrl> and it didn't let me.

I'm having the smae problem as well. I am trying to backup my dot.hack//SIGN episodes onto a VCD. It has worked with my movies and I have been using DVD2AVI. Well, even when I use the same settings as my movies, it doesn't make a WAV file. I do have the decode to WAV thing on. It just doesn't make a WAV file. I only get the small .d2v file. Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

Check to see under the Audio tab that you have the following ticked;

Track number =1 ( usually the english track )
Output Method = Decode to WAV
Dolby Digital Decode = Dolby Surround Down mix
48 -> 44.1Khz = Ultrahigh

Under the Options tab check the following;

Process Priority = High
Local Language = Default

These are the settings I have checked and all works OK. Check yours and change if needed.

Well those are the settings I have been using and it doesn't work. It might have something to do with the video. Because it changes from NTSC (%) to FILM (%). Same thing happens with the interlaced and Progressive thing.

i am having a similar problem with DVD2AVI on a movie that swithes from NTSC% to FILM%. it's only on NTSC for a brief moment at the very beginning of the preview. but when i run DVD2AVI i only get the small .d2v file
