i ripped the audio from my DVD movie (robbin williams :live on broadway) and it's 1.06 Gigs. Is there a program to compress it so i can burn it on a regular CD to play in my car?

You will have to re-encode the audio file to reduce the file size. Use TMPGEnc to do this. Encode at 128 or 192 which will allow you you to fit it on CD :D
