I am using Easy CD Creator 4 and burned my files onto a CD-RW and tryed to erase the files off the CD. I tryed a full erase on one and a quick erase and afterwards I can't access the CD-RWs to use them again. What do I need to do. I am totally new to burning CDs. Thanks.

i have a similar problem i think because i can only use the re-writable disk once and after that when i try to, the computer wont allow me to delete the files as it says its read only file and when i try to remove that in the properties it tells me that access is denied. so therefore i can only use the disk once. can you give some advice since im not that experienced at this stuff. cheers.

Some RW discs are not good quality and will stop allowing you to re-record. I suggest you change the brand of RW discs you are using.

What I mean by can't access the CD-RW is I put it the CD burner and it just spins and is not recognized by the drive of the CD Burner. I tryed even going through to window explorer and clicking the drive and it just says insert disc.

Sounds as though the disc has been damaged then but this could still be down to poor quality RW discs. I would suggest trying a different brand and I assume that ordinary CD-R's do not have this problem?

Are you using Direct CD to write to CD-RW? You are if you are copying files to the CD straight within the Windows drive access, without using a specific CD-R(w) burning software.

In such case you need to sue Direct CD's formattin g feature to prepare the disc for packet writing. An erased disc is completely empty and need re-formatting before Direct CD use.

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !

WindowsXP is a quirky OS when it comes to built-in burning capability. Many people claim to be able to burn fine. Many others have problems. Microsoft released an update to the IMAPI (which, FYI stands for Image Mastering Applications Programming Interface); that update can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320174. Furthermore, Microsoft has adressed other burning issues with WindowsXP, see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324129
