I am writing using a Pioneer 112D burner and some Rivision media (which NEVER fail on me with game backups, they always work with every other game I burn).

I have burned the .cue about 12 times now on this media and I always get 'Not a valid PS2 disk' using swap magic 3.6

It's very annoying as I am using the same files and swap magic as all my friends and this works for them. I have also tried burning this to a CD and using the corresponding Swap Magic CD disk to no avail.

I have been using Swap Magic for years and I know how to boot a backup, so it's not that. I am burning using Alcohol 120%
