I used to have a modded PS2, however the component video went out on that console, so I sold it. Then I fried two PS2's trying to mod them myself. Oops. So I'm just gonna go the Swap Magic route. I have been doing some research, and just wanted opinions from you guys.

I think I am going to go the Swap magic / Magic Switch 3 route with a brand new slim PS2. Is there any advantage of using a flip-top case over a magic switch pro? I'd prefer to keep the look of the original casing.

I was also interested in Clearxbox.com's "ghost case" clear replacement case. It says that it will work with swap magic, and has the magic switch function built in. Anybody use one of these, know of any pro's or con's?

The four sites I have narrowed down to are:

clearxbox.com (california) - ghost case+SM3.6 : $43 shipped
swapnslide.com (illinois) - magic switch+SM3.6 : $39 shipped
gocybershopping.com (candada) - magic switch+SM3.6 : $40.22 shipped (1-day)
revolution-sales.com (hawaii) - magic switch+SM3.6 $41 shipped (2-day)

It seems to me that all four sites have received nothing but positive feedback from members of these forums and the prices are similar. I live in WA state in the USA, and was leaning towards clearxbox.com or swapnslide.com because they are located in the continental US. Although swapnslide's amatuerish site design kind of scares me. Anyone have anything good/bad to say about any of these sites?

Thanks for anybody's input, I really do appreciate it!

I don't really have a recommendation for which particular site you should use; however, I did use swapmagic3.com, looked for a site that was selling an Swap Magic disc set for cheap, and one with a nice policy I could rely on. And btw, it's really up to you whether or not you want the fliptop case or the magic keys. With the slim PS2s, you don't really need the case or the magic keys. You can easily use a tissue mod without the need to spend an extra few dollars for them. As for information on it, it's around here somewhere.

i think bumping is illegal >_>

and i think magic switch is better. i don't have a slim ps2, but i saw the fliptop case and it looks messy.

Thanks for the heads up guys. About to place my order for the ghost case + SM 3.6 at clearxbox.com. Any one else have an opinion?
