I was wondering if anyone could check this log and tell me what could be wrong. I've been having internet problems with my connections so I am wondering if the problem lies within the log. I use Firefox for a browser. Thanks in advance.

Yes, your HijackThis Log does show a problem. However, that's not where to fix it.
1. Download and extract or unzip LSPFix.
2. Double-click on "LSPFix.exe".
3. LSPFix should show a problem. Usually, you just click "Finish", and LSPFix will automatically attempt to repair the problem.
4. If that does not work, use System Restore to restore your system to an earlier restore point. See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using...temrestore.mspx
Although your HijackThis log shows nothing serious, the following entries are unnecessary and can be removed if you wish:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
O23 - Service: BufferZone Service (BufferZoneSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\BufferZone\ClntSvc.exe (file missing)
Do another HijackThis scan and post the log.

Your log looks good. Except...
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
O6 - HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
If you did not set those, FIX THEM! Often malware can put things on your computer such as those to restrict what you can and cannot do.
Looks good other than that. How's your Internet behaving?

Just wondering about those settings. I have deliberately turned off the microsoft automatic updater, windows firewall, etc. Does fixing those options turn back on automatic updates etc?. By way of example when I do a Spybot scan these entries I leave unchecked. I also use Firefox instead of IE.
Micorsoft.Windows.Security.InternetExplorer
Micorosft.WindowsExplorerCenter.AntivirusOverride
Micorosft.WindowsExplorerCenter_disabled
Also by saying Fix them do you mean heck the boxes and remove?.
Thanks again

Yes, check them and press "Fix checked".
Don't turn off Windows Update, it will provide you with a ton of security updates.
While Windows firewall is not the best, you should not disable it unless you have another one, like Comodo.
You can re-enable them manually; Google "Windows Update" or "Windows Firewall" to find how (as I don't know of the top of my head).
How's your Internet acting?

Internet is still acting up. It actually 'freezes'and requires me to reboot or turn off/on to get it to work again.
I prefer to do my updates manually from other sites rather than jus allow Microsoft to auto update. I still update but from other sites. And yes I have found Comodo and use it (really good firewall and not as buggy as ZA).
SO do I still need to check those entries you wanted? or can I leave them as I don't use windows auto update and Windows firewall?. I really don't want those enabled.
As for the internet I got onto my provider and we did a reset to factory defaults. This does not seem to have stopped the freezes. I also used ISP Fix and that has not change it also. I use a USB connection for my internet, due to my ethernet card not working (too slack to replace :) but using USB has not been a problem before in a long time. I can actually connect and browse etc so it can't be the PC or I would assume I would not even be able to connect. I am thinking a router problem?....it does not appear to be the ISP. It is frustrating but I am learning things from it.....the hard way!.
Any further assistance from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, but inevitably, the hard way is always the fun, or not-quite-fun way.
You don't have to enable Windows firewall if you don't want to (it is a piece of s**t). Also, if you enable Windows Update, you don't have to get it installed automatically.
LSPFix turned up nothing, eh? Well, let me see... Oh, here's something that worked when my Internet was screwed up. Unplug your modem from your router and plug it directly into your computer (a.k.a. unplug the WAN cable from your router, unplug the network cable from your computer, and plug the WAN cable into your computer). Use it like that for like ten minutes, then when you plug it back into your router it fixes itself. If that doesn't work, find the reset button on your router and hold it down with a toothpick for ten seconds until one of the lights blinks off (usually WAN).
Report back. Good luck, trooper :)
