PS2 Slim with Matrix Infinity - Fan Noise?

Hey, everyone! I'm new to the board, but have been reading it for quite a while. I've learned quite a bit! Thanks! :)

I recently had my PS2 Slim modded with the Matrix Infinity at a local store where all my friends had their (originial brick) PS2's modded. Well, when I brought my PS2 home and started it up, I noticed there was a very loud noise. After looking into it, I've discovered that it is the fan. I called the store and the guy told me that it's normal.

My question is: Is it normal for the fan to be significantly louder after modding with the Matrix Infinity than before modding?

If the modders had alot of PS2 to mod they might of accidently changed the fan... some of the fans for PS2 are louder than fans. But fans should be alot louder after a modchip install.
