Harddrive inaccessable in MS Dash

Hello,

I recently reformated my hard drive using the hotspaw/bootdisk method. As of right now, my xbox is booting the Xbox dashboard. Yesterday, I tried to softmod it via AR. But when I navigate the Dashboard to Memory>>Hard drive, The dashboard freezes (kinda). The background animation (the scales) is still functional, as I can see it moving slightly, but no menu shows up. I have a Halo 2 profile saved on it, so I know it's functional. The same thing also happens when I try to access the AR memory card.

Should I try to softmod via hotswap or is there a solution to this problem?
