how do i get the xmb wave over my custom background

i downloaded a xmb wave and flashed it to my psp and i want to know how to get it to show up on my custom background not the stupid themes that sony has.

You have to name it 1-12.bmp and put it inside your resource folder (in flash).
After that it is selectable from the theme menu in your XMB

Yup, then the PSP will think its the monthly background image, and use it below your waves.

Have you tried going to theme in settings and trying another month setting?

Odd, more and more people are getting this problem...
Have you made sure the image is a BMP, not a JPG saved as one. Also try a different size, for example 460x260

i went into paint a saved it as a .bmp file so it cant be that. but ill try the size of it.

Yes. There is suppose to be a sorta looking colored white box, like, the first one in themes. Just rename it exactly like the 1-12 file, it has to be identical.

i named it 1-12.bmp
the only thing close to a white box under theme is the grayish theme sony provided.

Does it read, 1-12.bmp? Cause mine is only 1-12. The format and icon has to be identical to that of the original too. Im not a wizard in this but dont u need another file to run with the waves?

Nono on your XMB, under theme settings

You have file extension viewing turned off under windows settings. It is still named 1-12.bmp

my computer says the file is a .bmp file is there supposed to be an image in the resource folder that is kinda white or gray?
