i have the old fat ps2. no chips or mods o any kind. when i put a game in it says disk read error.does anyone know how to fix this problem?

only suggestions i have are:
1. try cleaning the laser
2. if one fails then try adjusting the laser
3. if 1 & 2 fails you can try adjusting laser voltage but i really do not suggest this for people who do not know what they are doing.
