dxc express region problem

I am using a nec 1300A with dvd x copy express. I have tried different bands, +r, -r, +rw, -rw and nothing seems to work. It finishes and says it is complete. but it will not play in anything. My home dvd says wrong region. I have tried three of them. I am in region 1 copying region 1 dvds. My computer and others just say unkown dvd. I can explore it and it looks the same as the original. But nothing will play. I am new to this and I am not sure if i am doing everything right. I thought dvd x copy express was suppose to be one touch and thats it.

amd 1700
768 ddr ram
windows xp
dvd x copy express
nec 1300A
450W ps
