I've been getting loading errors (the little spinning needle turns red and the game takes a while to load when its like that).

I burnt it on TDK media at 4x.

TDK is crap and degrades over time, which is probably why you're having issues.

Re-burn to good media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, 8x discs burnt at 4x should give you the best result.

Isn't TDK considered 2nd-tier media? I thought it had 80% return rates.

for what it's worth, i've noticed that my PS2 doesn't like TDK, especially after continuous use.

Hm...that actually seems to be true with mine...

Hooboy...if I decide to change media, I've got a LOT of DVDs to redo...

Well TDK has been known to work the laser a lot harder than good quality media like Verbatim, I used TDK for a long time and fried three PS2 lasers before I did some research and started using Verbatim.

Ever since I've used Verbatim I've never had a problem.
