I got a pro to install my wiikey about a week ago. I downloaded SSB. Melee and burnt the iso to several different DVDs at various different speeds using Nero. When i put the dvds into the wii a question mark appears with some error mesage underneath. Does anyone know whats happening and how i can fix it?

Your getting a DRE or a disc read error. one major factor of people coming across this message is due to the media used. I suggest you use Verbatim or Tayo Yuden DVD-Rs. ;) and also try using ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter

what firmware are you using? The latest update from Nintendo has been giving some wiikey users some troubles with gamecube games.

There are some gamecube game that give dre, because of the audio problem in the wiikey. The wiikey team are working on it and who know when it coming out, back in May they said there was going to be a fixed, then last month they said the same thing and still nothing today. This only happen to wiikey other chip worked fine.

hi, 2nd time posting. hoping to get some help for the same problem as well. i see alot of problem dont have problems with mod wii playing gamecube backup yet i cant, so it's very frustrating.
basially, i have a wii (NTSC US) mod with cyclowiz. possibly a 2.0 firmware for the chip and a 2.2U firmware for the wii.
all my wii backups play fine. i have 15 or so gamecube games, original and backup. my gamecube console broke down awhile ago.. so i got the wii to replace it. now, all the gamecube original plays fine in the wii. however all the backup of gamecube cant be played.
everytime i insert the backup gamecube games into the wii..it doesnt recognized the disk, whether the game is ntsc or imported. wii message stated it doesnt now recognized the disk.
the mini dvd i m using for the gamecube is RIDATA 4x -R.
so.. i need so help or info to work around this problem. any help will be greatly appreciate.
some questions comes to my mind are:
lets say if i burn the gamecube iso back into a DVD-R instead of a mini dvd-r, wil the gamecube games work in the wii?
any other mini dvd media out there that works better with the wii?
i dont waste to trash the gamecube backups, cause i really want to keep these games.
thank you very much.

More then likley it is the mini-disc causing the issue with your Wii not reading the backups.
Try ripping the mini-disc GC game backups with ImgBurn to your PC (MODE/READ).
After you rip the mini-disc backup to your PC burn the ISO to DVD-5 media.
Or
You could rip multiple mini-disc backups to your PC and make a multi-game disc on 1 full DVD5 disc using the ISO's to add to a multi-game disc by using a program called WiiUIv140.
You can fit 3 games per DVD-5 disc by using WiiUI v140. You can get the program HERE.

Hi
I've just bought a Wii modded with Wiikey and have been experimenting with doing Gamecube Backups, hopefully this may help.
First get hold of a program called 'Multigame ISO Compressor' (sorry i don't have a link) this will not only let you put multiple Gamecube games on 1 dvd but you can also just put 1 game uncompressed on if you're having problems running it.
Next
You can burn Gamecube roms with either a .gcm or .iso extension through Nero's using the 'Burn Image File' option.
Burn at the lowest speed possible for best results.
Always use the 'Finalise Disc' option or the games will not work.
I have only so far done Luigi's Mansion and after burning a load of coasters have got it to run using the above method. The only thing wrong with it is that i get a bunch of very thin black lines running across the screen near the top, this may be to do with a bad dump of the .iso i downloaded,i'm not sure.If anyone has any other ideas please post them.
Hope this has been of some value.
