What do you mean? is there ANY chance of bricking the PSP in the attempt though?

there ALWAYS is a slim chance of bricking a psp with flashing.
i upgraded my 1.5 to 3.03OE with a authentic 4GB MSD and it works fine

If i recall the 1.50 firmware only supports up to 2GB and 4GB was supported by firmware 2.60+ or something.
