according to this guide my ps2 should be seen in network connections:
http://ohshi.dyndns.org/testingground/junk/mcguide/guide.html i connect my ps2 and computer with an internet cable but it doesnt show up.am i doing anything wrong?or can anyone help?thanks.
are you using a router or are you using the cat5(ethernet) cable that came with your modem?
cause if you're using a regular cable it won't work. it has to be a crossover cable. you can get one at your local radio shack or similar electronics retailer
i have a wired router should i plug my cable from ps2 in there or is that the same?ill check around for the other cable but canada doesnt have radioshack anymore so i wont find it there.
2. you can configure your ps2 settings to match your subnet mask and gateway (from the configuration screen) but make sure your ip address is different than any other devices on the router.
3. save the config.
4. restart your ps2 with the disc in
5. enter filebrowser and goto misc
6. click on ps2net and it will connect to the router.
7. you will be able to use FlashFXP to login to your ps2. make sure you have passive connection turned off or it disconnects all the time.
8. you can't transfer games this way. if you want to do that then i would suggest hooking your hdd back up to the computer and using winhiip
