Hi guyz - really stuck now - reading various forums and realising that lots have lost their ps2 i am now reluctant to fit any ffc cable without knowing the orientation - WHY DONT THEY HAVE PIN 1 identified on the cable and the plug it fits. - Any learned person out there that can help determine the orientation of the connections - I dont want to blow the machine - would really apprecaite sum help. I think all plugs appear to hsave 1 side brown and 1 side white does that help

Hi
Worst fears, stripped all dms4 ezi out and put back together - IT DOESN'T WORK - in its original format.
AT the moment trying to repair the ps2 v12 slimline. I also inadvertantly snapped the little reset eject - the ffcable joins right were a ps2 case securing screw fits
So £50+ down the drain and my ps2 was still in warranty - another £100 lost - I just cant believe I made such a stupid choice of modchip. I went for the dms 'cos a mate has the dms3 in his ps2 (bigger case) and it works a treat.
I keep gettig data read error so im hoping its just thr laser head needs levelling in - BUT - I dont hve one of those scilly scope things - dont suppose you have any info on how to level in a laser do you

sry, I have no idea at what u talking about. Thanks a lot for the info. Been all day long with my ps2 guts on my bed. I already figured out the issue with pin 1, but haven't been able to solder the ground, and believe I know how to solder, it looks like this board comes with some sort of a coat that won't let the solder stick. I don't want 2 apply more heat, using 40watts.
Again, thanks for the info...

yeah, when you install a modchip a v12 without the laser fix, your laser is gone to the tubes, plus I have read that not all v12 are mod friendly only ones with a certain type of laser samsung I think, forget now tho.
