I decided to get my new 360 modded yesterday but when I switched it on I am told it needs to be updated. The download gets all the way to the end and then I get the message that download has failed. I've tried putting the update on disc but I get Mixed Media Disc so can't load from it. Has the chap who modded it broken it?

i don't think so, all updates are safe with upgraded firmware consoles. i have applied almost every update(whatever ones i am prompted with) and no problems.

Its really odd then. It was working fine on Friday but now won't get on Live no matter what I try

Maybe you can try clearing the cache of the HD?

maybe its ur live connection i had that same shit. connect it directly. its something with the cable. does ur connection go rj45 from pc to 360?
