ok, so yester day i was playing my psp then i went to go check something on the computer. my psp was turned off and on the coffee table. when i got back i turned on my psp and it just showed the main screen with the white lines, there was no time, date, battery power, no nothing. I waited and waited once nothing happend i tried to do that thing where you hold it up for 10 sec. it turned off but it did the same thing as before, so i took out the umd while it was off, turned it on and it worked fine. then i tried to put the umd in while it was turned on but it wasn't reading it and wouldn't recognize that the umd was even in the psp. and when doing this the psp makes a wierd noise about every five seconds and i dont know if its the laser or what. Please help me it will be greatly apreciated.

well now i try a different umd and it works like it was before. i just dont get why my medal of honor umd doesn't work any ideas? anyone?

it looks like "mr. dood" has not updated this thread in a while but we were both having the prob. with his psp and now his psp will not play any UMD, like with Ridge Racer it goes to the loading screen and freezes no umd runs right anymore i told him that there was some physicall damage to the umd slot, laser or something but i could be wrong.

also he MIGHT be able to find the receipt and return it to target, does anyone know what FW psps are right now? i know they are TA-082s but what FW?

after trying to play ridge racer it just doesn't work any more it is doing exactly what my other game is doing... i thought maybe something inside is scratching the umd but that can't be because it works fine in my friends psp i just dont get it. could it be because of the custom FW i have. maybe the flash got screwed up? PLEASE HELP I REALLY DONT WANT TO HAVE TO EXCHANGE IT!!

Definately worth a shot since its free. The only other thing i can think of is that your laser/lens might need to be cleaned or replaced.

I'm going to target today and get a new psp because my old one broke if u cant find the receipt do what i do buy a new and switch the barcode sticker under the psp my friend did it i'm going today to do it ;)
