i was on the last step of making a new hdd witch was to lock it
but it said the drive was frozen so i waited till the xboxhdm loaded then hooked up my hdd and it worked

i put it in the xbox and it said error 6- which is that it cant unlock the hdd

then i unlocked it using the same method then put it in the xbox and it said error 5- xbox hdd is not locked

what should i do

You are attempting to lock the drive with the wrong eeprom data file.

Read the xboxhdm documentation carefully. The eeprom.bin file will be on the drive somewhere if you softmodded before removing the drive.

If you can unlock the drive then you obviously have had at some point the right eeprom file. You reported before that the drive was in a frozen state? Some can only be locked and unlocked so many times.. not sure how that works.

The lock/unlock tools often source an eeprom file from a floppy. It may be an idea to try that method as there is a chance your cd drive is being a bit slow finding the data.

If you get the right file, error 6 (locked but wrong eeprom data) will go away, but remember the locking tools are a bit unreliable.

i had to rebuild my xbox hard drive from scratch i did everything to a t but when i locked it and put it back in my xbox it gave me code 5 i dont know how to get my eprom so that it works can u help me
