well what firmware are you? if it's custom firmware put them in an ISO folder in the root of your memory stick so it goes E:/ISO. E = removeable disc, different from comp to comp. And go on your psp and go to the game section and memory stick and u should c it there.

I have a regular software and it's 2.71. I heard about the new 3.40 oe-a that came out but I do not really know how to put it on my PSP. The readme is kindoff unclear to me.

go to psp-hacks.com and download the 2.80 upgrade. once upgraded to 2.80, use the 2.80 DOWNgrader to go back to 1.5. then upgrade to either 3.03OE-C, 3.10 OE-A, 3.30 OE-A, or 3.40 OE-A(3.03OE-A and 3.10 OE-A recommended). after that u can just drop the game iso/cso files into E:/ISO folder(root of the memory card)

ThX for letting me know. I am in the process of updating. I need a little help because I get confused in this step in the readme; Execute the program, and it will generate the DATA.DXAR file. The checksums...
What does it mean to excute the program How I will generate the DATA.DXAR. Please help my PSP is new and I do not want to brick it by making some stupid mistake.

just to let u know, i only recommend 3.03 oe-c and 3.10 oe-a' because they have been revised(fixed bugs), any firmwares higher might have bugs here and there

anything below 2.80 use the 2.80 downgrader.
anything from 2.81 - 3.03 use the 3.03 downgrader(requires GTA 2.0)

Local Stores are selling PSP I & K versions which i gather are the 2.60 and 2.71 firmware PSPs. I would like to downgrade to version 1.50 but the downgraders i have seen all still seem to Require an unpatched GTA LCS. Is it possible to downgrade without a copy of GTA? It was my understanding that firmware under 3.03 was able to do this. But i just cannot seem to find one that will. Any tips or links would be greatly appreciated. Even better a step by step noob guide! I have not purchased the PSP yet but i am eagerly awaiting help so that i can.
Thank you.

If u have the official 3.40 update, don't use it. Get to a CFW so u can emulate, run homebrew, and run ISO/CSO
