I just starting updating my OE firmware today and got updated to 3.40. Everything was fine until I saw that you could totally change the psp theme. Now i changed it and it worked fine. After I decided to play MGS port ops and when I exited my psp shut off. Now it wont turn back on?! Have you guys ever heard of a psp bricking this way? Or is it something else?

It was fully charged battery. Oh I mean the psp did turn on but the screen was black, and after in about 10 seconds it would just turn off...

There are many many threads with this similar problem if you had searched.

Just go to the recovery menu and recover back to 1.5 then upgrade again.
