I have transfered my movie from my DV camcorder to my HD to an .AVI file, but the problem is that the file is over 3GB......
I want to convert it to a divx file. I have download various of software, and read a lot of "how to make a divx", but they only say how to make it from a DVD or a .vob file. So anyone know what I can do it from an .AVI file??

Well, what type of software did you use to get the DV to your PC, And what do you plan to do with these videos, because you could go different routes with this. Also you can directly go from DV to PC in DivX. You also can, on some programs, make the quality less and the dimentions(sp)smaller, that will lower the size down. Remember you would lose much quality going from avi to avi. But going DV to PC in any codec will have more quality..it all depends on what you want to do with the video..
