I have used just about every software on about 10 of the latest movies to come out. Dick & Jane, Narnia, Kong, and AnyDVD + CloneDVD has worked on all of them. Beats Sony, Disney, & all others. Being that lifetime updates are included with the purchase, I will be purchasing LEGIT versions of this software. Cheers to you Slysoft.com

I had a success ripping this DVD with DVD Decrypter but when I attemp to shrink it using DVD Shrink the file is too big for a DVD. I even tried Re-Authoring it with only the Main Movie streams and it is still too big. Does anyone know any other ways of compressing this disk?

victom15,
You can do it using DVDFAB Decrypter then VobBlanker and then Shrink or use AnyDVD w/ Shrink. In AnyDVD there is a 21 day trial and after you d/l it you insert the DVD Movie in the drive and after the Fox's head in the taskbar turns from red to pale to read again you right click the fox head. Now go to rip DVD-Video to Harddisk and then rip the DVD to the HD. If there is a structural problem then FixVTS which AnyDVD uses will correct the problem. FixVTS does the same as VobBlanker. After ripping th HD then you use Shrink

Victom, don't be surprised if some of the movie is missing. Decrypter is having trouble with some of the files. Anyway, when you have the movie in re-author mode,(I'm assuming you clicked on re-author).. just drag one title over to the left pane. Of course the wide screen version, I think it's title one. Title one is just below 3 gigs. If you have more than that, then I think you did or didn't do something. Anyway, I had great success with ripping with "anydvd" to my hard drive. Then I used shrink to re-author, see above..oh remember to set the compression to .."no compression", since it at 100% and then back it up to another folder...put a dvd in your drive and it will do the rest. I'm assuming that you have shrink linked with Nero as your burner?

I have been trying to ger my burner to just read the Dvd. Everytime I insert it into the drive, it will act like it is reading the disc but I cannot access it or will the drive give information. No program is accessing it as well. But on my stand alone player, it reads just fine, and this is the second disc.
Has anyone had this problem.
I have a Lite-On SOHW-1633S with the latest firmware/drivers.

Question to Alkohol. I tried your method, DVDFab (latest) with VobBlanker. In VobBlanker , before I could press the process all button on the right side the whole title set came up with process already showing in the last right column. The initial size at top is 7632 and final and proc is 1555.Also VTS 07 VOB initial is 3146 MB and final is 132 MB. VTS 06 VOB is 3482 initial with final at 484 MB.What am I doing wrong?

If you have any DVD, just open Dick and Jane with shrink. Click full disc, after it reads it, click on re-author and click either title 1 or 2. Thats it. The only program I use since I got AnyDVD is shrink, there's no need for any other.

Why do the re author, when you can do full disc and it goes from the copy to the burn automatic? So many ways, and I just read the movie and it goes right to copy. Maybe I just have a easy way for this and needed to know if all those other steps were needed????

@hound
The reason I re-author is a lot of movies can't be shrunk these days, and second I don't want all the crap.

Yup sounds good. I cloned Fun with Dick and Jane last week with no problems business as usual with the same method I use for all dvds --> AnyDVD 5.9.5.3 + CloneDVD2 2.8.9.2.

When I tried with DVD Shrink, shrink wouldn't even open the disk. At that time AnyDVD wasn't updated yet. DVD43 said it it was updated but would nt work. By now all are updated. Tinner

DVD43 and AnyDVD have a conflict. AnyDVD should have given you that message. I got rid of DVD43.

Queston? Why do some have no problems with ANY DVD and Clone DVD and others have a real problem. Does not make any sense. They should work the same for all, right?

I have wondered the same on several of these threads. I did Fun With Dick & Jane on Saturday using AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 and it took 53 minutes (older system) start to finish for "movie only". I guess I really should learn to use other programs just in case, but these seem to work OK for me. Not sure why other people have such problems, even when some of them use the same programs I do.

Obviously someones doing something wrong. I know I just got AnyDVD and have used nothing but AnyDVD and shrink and it works great. Plus it's only 2 steps. Open with shrink and burn.

Lucas324. First I installed AnyDVD and disabled DVD43 then tried to back-up, didn't work. So I uninstalled DVD43 and tried again, no luck. I got 2 updates since then for AnyDVD. Everyone has updated thier program now. Sometimes when you have other programs running in the tray causes trouble. Kodak Easyshare caused me problems.

It seems like this new encryption implemented by the MPAA is frustrating most people. Everyone uses different software to accomplish their rip, author, and burn needs, however, since I never have any problem when I do my own process I?ll confirm what others on this thread already pointed out. The only software who need to burn the new DVDs (as of right now) is the latest version of AnyDVD, DVD Shrink, and then burn with DVD Decrypter or the tons of other available burning tools. It?s not rocket science! If you use these three tools it is a guaranteed burn of the DVD. If you have problems, it?s not the software, yet your abaility to use the software properly. I?ll also mention this?get used to this process because all the DVDs released after March 06 will more or less have these new tricks to stop copying or piracy. For instance, the DVD ?Shopgirl? which was released yesterday 4.26.06 has the same structure as ?Fun with Dick and Jane? yet I burned them both in less than 40 minutes. Btw, there will be an update today from AnyDVD to handle the Sony Arccos protection.

Good points Pikez. Since you're already using AnyDVD, you can cut your back-up time in half by using Clone DVD 2. I backed up Shopgirl in about 22 minutes with these 2. Although I still have Shrink & Decrypter on my desktop, the combination of AnyDVD & Clone DVD2 are tops. You may want to give it a try. It's free for 21 days at Slysoft.com.

If AnyDVD and DVDshrink or AnyDVD and DVDclone didn't work for you, then maybe you don't have the current version of AnyDVD. Go to Slysoft's website nad get the latest version.
DVDshrink doesn't have software to burn DVD's. DVDshrink will tie into Nero Express if it's on the system. So if you say you can burn from DVD Shrink, you have Nero.
Nreo is Great, it's what I use to burn DVD's and CD's.
